Dr. Suzanne James is a Licensed Psychologist providing clinical services in the Greater Cincinnati area. She received her Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology in 2000 from University of Louisville and Doctorate in Psychology from Spalding University in 2004.  She has been in private practice since 2000. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Kentucky Psychological Association, and the Ohio Psychological Association and is licensed to practice in Ohio and Kentucky.  She continues to train and research new ways to help her clients to reach their potential.


Dr. James specializes in working with children, adolescents and families.  She believes that while there are commonalities among individuals, she understands that each person is unique and can only be understood fully if temperament, genetics, life experiences, and current situations are taken into account.  Her therapy is based on psychodynamic and attachment theory, while utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques when necessary. She also speaks locally and nationally on a number of different topics.


Dr. James provides a variety of services including individual and family therapy, neuropsychological, psychological, and educational testing, parent coaching, and school consultation. Her primary clinical interests include understanding the unique potential in gifted and twice exceptional children and adults, individuals with Asperger’s Disorder, Nonverbal Learning Disorder and other learning disorders, individuals with Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and individuals with depression and anxiety.    



Bojangles is an American Cocker Spaniel who was born in Louisiana and came to the Northern Kentucky area in the winter of 2008. Since 11 weeks old Bojangles has been an active part of Dr. James’ private practice.  On request, he provides comfort, relaxation, and humor to the therapy office. Bojangles favorite things to do are see “his people,” take walks, eat treats, give kisses, and get his belly rubbed.  Please let Dr. James know if you wish or do not wish to have Bojangles in session with you.
